Consider police officers, service members, and retail workers; their physical badges represents many hours of informal training, formal education, and official certification. Digital badges provide a similar shortcut to understanding the competencies and achievements of the people we’re teaching, recruiting, and collaborating with online.

This PD session will lead show you how to use badges to reward students who complete tasks assigned in a Canvas course. You will also learn all of the necessary steps needed to create badges in your own courses. Throughout the session, we will discuss gamification to enhance learning as well as share additional ideas to add engage students online. At the end of this PD session, you will be able to add badges to your own course!
